Earlier this month, Casio G-Shock replica watches celebrated its 35th anniversary with a blow-out event at Madison Square Garden. During the run-up to the event, I got to visit the massive exhibition of vintage and modern G-Shock watches on display, and frankly it was overwhelming. Amongst all of the creations are a number of new collections, including the Gold Tornado, which is a trio of limited edition G-Shocks that are plays on classic silhouettes. Here are all the details.
First up is the Gravitymaster GPW2000TFB-1A ($750), which is a 51.7mm watch with combination analog and digital displays, Tough Solar capabilities, and Connect Engine 3-Way, which means the watch has GPS, Bluetooth, and solar connectivity onboard.
Next is the Casio G-Steel GSTB100TFB-1A fake ($900), another digital/analog hybrid. This one comes in at an even larger 53.8mm and has a carbon fiber bezel on top of the gold and black case. It also has an automatic time adjustment feature, so when you hop off an airplane the watch will update to the correct timezone without requiring you to set it manually.
Last is the Frogman GWRD1035-B-1 ($1,100), the only all-digital model of the bunch. When I hear “G-Shock,” this is the kind of watch that appears in my mind’s eye. This one is a certified diver’s watch, with a ton of extra tech packed inside. It features radio connectivity, can log dive data, and has a digital compass, thermometer, moon data, and tide graphs onboard. All of this is in a 53.3mm case.
Unifying the collection is the color scheme, which is gold and black with red accents. None of the three are understated or for the bashful – these are big, bad, tough G-Shocks. They come with all the usual G-Shock tech too, including 200M water resistance, world time functions, dual time display, neo-brite luminous hands, LED super illuminator light, alarms, stopwatch and countdown timers, and full auto calendars. All of them also feature special 35th anniversary engravings on the casebacks, with a logo designed by graphic artist Eric Haze. The strap keepers also all feature a star emblem, another reminder of the anniversary.
These copy watches UK will be available beginning next month, from various G-Shock retailers, including department stores, jewelers, and fashion shops.
